Monday 2/15/2010 Zip line and Baldí

and held it next to the chocolate as it ran down the fountain.   It covered the strawberries!

Another long day.  Left home at 7:00 and returned at 10:00.  We went to Sky Tram http://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=8070395869025413122 to do the zip line in the mountains near the Arenal Volcano.  It was an exciting/scary experience.   Everybody did it except Kayla and Sarah.  I don't think they have any regrets.  They had a guided tour though the forest.  Kayla told me that the guide said that parts of Jurassic Park was filmed there!  Being that far up and going up to 100 KMH is really unreal.  Gabe had to go down with one of the guides (kind of disappointing to him) because he was too light and (may have?) not been able to make it to the other side.    Personally I am glad I experienced it but it isn't something I have to do again.   Sky Tram is a first class operation and the guides are fantastic.

From there we went back to the hotel of the woman who sold us the packages and had a great lunch - topped off by an ice cream bar.   We then headed to the hot springs.  Baldi is SO beautiful.   There are 26 different (very exotic) pools (see it at http://www.arenal.net/baldi-hot-springs.htm)  One of the pools, the most popular it seemed, had 3 water slides - 2 were brutal and one was toooo slow.  Oh well.  The students had a great time.   Included was a buffet style dinner.  It was very good and very fun.

One more day.   Tuesday we are going shopping in Sarchí and to a mall in San Pedro.  I will give more details on these places tonight.

Enjoy the pics.
